How Walton 2nds managed to escape Burbage on Saturday with a losing draw i will struggle to answer for the rest of my days. Burbage batted first and wickets were in short supply as Moreland 1-30, Green 1-50 and a runout were Waltons only successes. Burbage closed their innings on 236/3. That looked a daunting target for a Walton side lacking experince and when Paul Watkins was bowled for six things looked bad. However a stand between Mudvardia 58 no and Green 42 helped steady the innings. An inside edge on to stumps seen the end of Green, and with Richards and Tovey following Walton were restricted to 134/4. Burbage huffed and puffed but could not remove Moreland and Mudvardia and Walton Nicked a draw. Not great cricket but tense nonetheless....
