Location: Away Weather: Overcast & Cold Outfield: Well Mowed
Risley 276/2 Walton 110
Completely outclassed. Unfortunately we were able to only take eight players to the heights of Risely being a Bank Holiday weekend it was very difficult to find numbers. Risely kindly lent us a player to make nine and a fielder to make ten.
Very cold and windy conditions seemed to effect the bowlers during the game as line was an issue all day and it didn't help with a cronk like myself keeping wicket - dropped a catch and missed a stumping - forgetting the byes - things can only get better. I did redeem myself slightly with a supered, in my eyes anyway, glove pick up and throw for a run out.
Risley fielded a very strong side as their senior players played in the top order with the top 4 each making 50 and two retiring once they reached that milestone.
Mr Gazelle made a fantastic over the shoulder caught and bowled - WD STEVE!!
Walton went into bat after tea and Chris Langham made a supered knock of 66 which really took the sour taste out of the mouth. GREAT EFFORT CHRIS - VERY WELL DONE!! The rest of us, well, we padded up and padded down.
We need to do better all round if we are going to come close to winning a game - fingers crossed for next week.
