Walton 2nds followed up their win last week with a convincing one this week, thanks to a five wicket haul from internet signing Tippler aka stuart cole. Electing to bat Sharnord got off to a slow start with Moreland 1-23 having three lbw appeals turned down in the first over!!! Then in his second over he got the Sharnford opener plum lbw and the 'umpire' had little choice but to raise his finger. Then Tippler came into the attack and bowled full and sraight taking wicket after wicket to finish with figures of 5-31. Excellent figures for a bloke who has been out of cricket for 25 years. Sharnford managed to scrape a few runs together and finished on 125/8. In reply Walton lost Watkins for 1, ran out. But Jigga held things together and scored his second consecutive fifty, playing some lovely shots along the way. Helped by Mudvardia 18 they steered the Walton ship into calmer waters. By the time they both had fell the job was all but done. Tovey 19 no took Walton across the line, joined at the crease by Moreland who for the first time in along time had the joy of hitting the winning runs. Back to back victories for the 2nds? I had to pinch myself this morning to make sure it was'nt a dream. Tougher times ahead though as we play our final home game of the season next week, the visitors to Loughborough road being high rollers Hathern....
