Braunstone 2Nd's were the visitors to Walton 2nds in senior league four on Saturday. The visitors won the toss and elected to bat. They got off to a slow start with Moreland (2-48) and Layzell (2-42) keeping the bowling that tight that Braunstone had only scored fourteen off the first ten overs. With a change of bowling Braunstone were able to step up the run rate and Hall made (58) helped by Roberts 50 no. With wickets in hand and 200 in sight they took risks resulting in three run outs. Braunstone finally closed their innings on 196/8.
In reply Walton got off to a terrible start as Green was trapped lbw for one. A stand then between Jigga 44 and Tovey 20 gave the hosts hope, but once they were both caught, the hope had gone, as Walton collapsed. J. Conway scored a quick fire 14 but it was all in vain as Walton were finally bowled out for 122, handing Braunstone a 74 run victory.
Getting a bit fed up of players non commitment. To all those ther week in week out thank you. To the others Buck your selfs up.............
