An outstanding performance from Nick Allen helped Walton 2Nd's secure their first win of the season verses Sharnford 2Nd's in Senior league four. Losing the toss Walton were asked to bat and got off to a steady start with openers Watkins and Green nicking singles here and there. The first wicket fell when Green (18) was ran out after being called through for a suicidal run. With Giga falling for a three ball duck, Walton were quickly 30/2. Then a great stand between Watkins (56) his second consecutive half century and Allen (38) helped Walton pass the 100 mark with ease. A beauty of a ball got rid of Allen, then Mudvardia played some big shots to make a quick fire (18). Debutant Dew chipped in with (14) and Walton finally closed their innings on 202/7. Sharnford set about chasing the target down and scored a few early boundaries until Duval (6) tried the pull shot but only managed a top edge to fine leg to give Walton the early breakthrough. Then came the Allen show as he bowled fantastic to finish with figures of 5-20, he was on fire and Sharnford couldn't live with his relentless accuracy. When Dew 2-8 was handed the ball his off spin was to good for the tail and Sharnford collapsed, Giga also picked up two for 29 and Sharnford were bowled out for 110 handing Walton a 92 run victory.

Nick Allen man of match steady with bat, outstanding with ball. Nice for a captain to know that if he's having bad day with ball some one else can step up to the plate.
