Bitteswell 132/1 Walton 128

Very short on players as there was a rearranged League game, managed to get 9 and Bitteswell would lend us a player to make 10 v 10 - very sporting.

Arrived at the ground - what a lovely setting - just outside the village set amongst the fields overlooked by a very impressive newly built farm house - spectators duely set themselves up in the corner with BBQ and beer - sod the game lets party. Two of ours didn't turn up which left us very short - we won the toss and chose to bat hoping the remaining two would show up.

Mark Jones scored a superb 61 and myself a supporting 26 - with only 6 wickets it was always going to be an up hill struggle. Bitteswell came into bat with there young guns and the only wicket to fall was great peice of bowling my Mr Layzell who got one to come in off the seam by almost a foot.

Mr Southward got himself ribbed for having the fastest finger in the west as umpire. Quote of the day came from me when batting with Mr Layzell and he started walking off the field - Mr Archer: "Wheres Steve going?" - Umpire: "He's out LBW" - how the heck did I miss that!!! All good fun and banter!

All told a good day and a good sporting game of cricket.

Can somebody get Butty a London Underground map before the next game. It'll help him find the right line!
