Snibston 181/4 Walton 118/7
A game of cross country motoring. The day started off with us all taking a gentle Sunday drive over to Snibston only to discover the ground all locked up and no one to be seen. Following phone calls to the Missing Team hot line it turns out Snibston had done the same and were at our ground. A super quick return drive to our ground to get the game going - both teams had the fixture as away - Away the Lads!!
Anyhoo, game on, 30 overs and no chance of a Tea! Snibston won the toss and chose to bat. Some reasonable bowling but many missed catching opportunites - I counted FIVE dropped catches - "we really need to so fingers"!! NEWS FLASH - superb forwarding diving catch by Mr J Shipman - was the highlight of our fielding effort! BREAKING NEWS - Mrs Langham and Redpath rustled up a Tea for us all at very short notice - HUGE thanks to you both.
Walton went to bat. A fine 42 by Sam Shipman and minor contributions by the rest - we really need to focus on taking our time and picking the right balls to play shots - but hey - thats cricket.
Losing draw - but a very good match with some great Sportmanship displayed by both sides - Mark Redpath gave up his bowling wicket to give a young lad a second opportunity at the crease - good on you Mark.
